The Installation of Pastors John and Aventer Gray

On Sunday, June 3rd I had the most amazing opportunity to witness history in the making. Pastors John and Aventer Gray were installed as Lead and Associate Pastors of Relentless Church in Greenville, South Carolina. I unfortunately could not make that trip but I was able to watch with my iRelentless family via the web. What an amazing service! I was most interested because this was a Non-Denominational church and my first installation service.

So what lead me here?

I grew up in the traditional church. Over the past few years my faith has been questioned. I felt like my soul was missing something. I heard about Pastor John Gray from the OWN Channel, his show called The Book of John Gray. I watched a couple of episodes but I wasn’t ready to hear what he had to say until a few months ago. He was an Associate Pastor at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Now he is the Lead Pastor of Relentless Church in South Carolina. I wouldn’t consider this to be a Mega Church but the membership is constantly growing. Some folks shy away from the Mega Church because of the reputation that they are all about the money. You don’t get that vibe from Relentless.

The Ceremony

This was over 3 hours long and I didn’t even realize that it was that long plus I didn’t want it to end. I’m being serious. What I loved about the service is the love that all the visiting pastors have for The Grays. I was moved the entire night. Pastor John Gray stepped into his position ready to lead and worship with his goal of saving lives…saving souls.
