Not since The Wire has there been a show so real that you get caught up in the drama and think this is life itself. If you don't know about it then let me introduce you to the hit show The Cycle. Airing back in 2017, this show ain't The Wire...but if I'm being honest, it's better! Welcome to Malboro folks!

Can we take a minute and just say how talented our brothers and sisters are? This cast is amazing and the directing is out of this world. Now I stumbled onto this show by accident and was hooked within 5 minutes. Each episode leaves you wanting more. I'm still trying to figure out where I was when this dropped two years ago. Seriously.

As I binged watched Season 1, I was very sad to hear about Remo's death. He really brought a lot to Season 1. Many people probably tuned in just because of him. I'm sure that was a heavy loss but the show continued on and hasn't missed a beat.

While watching the show I found myself taking sides as well. That is even more present now with Season 2. In the first season, Rue got shot and I was mad...for a good while. Up until he came home from the hospital and he had some other chick by his side. I was definitely in my feelings. "Rue, who was by your bedside, son?" Then his baby mom came through and let him have it. I was on HER side. Rue pissed me off. (side note: This is fictional but for some of us fans, we get caught up...okay) I'm not going to give away too much because the show deserves the viewership. Go to YouTube and watch!

Quick Synopsis: The Cycle follows the lives of some of the streets ruthless individuals in the New York Burroughs. Everyone is all about the bag and will stop at nothing to get the bag. They even shot Rue outside his son's mother's apartment building...in the daytime! The cycle can't be escaped. No one is safe...no one.

Then there is Los. I'm not sure how much time he has left but he's like a cat with 9+ lives for real. He's a special person but highly entertaining. Whoever is casting the characters, I bow down because you got the right folks for real.

Fat Boy...when is his time going to be up? He gets on my nerves. LOL I'm kidding, I actually enjoy all the characters. But Fat Boy and Rue gonna have to meet up one day.

I am currently on Season 2 and at the start I was missing Rue. None the less, the show is moving in the right direction. I am enjoying the storytelling as well as the many twists and turns. Sometimes I am left scratching my head trying to figure out what's going to happen next. Season 1 sets the foundation. Season 2 is just as scandalous and prepare yourself because there are more body counts. To be honest, some of these dudes need to die anyway and that sorry ass police captain...whomever he is...kidnapped Lil' Chucky...for real he will meet his maker as he should. The hardest scene and probably the most realistic one was the park shooting. As a mother, my heart was in my throat the entire time. It gets no realer than that.

With the drama come the laughs. Again, the writing is phenomenal. If you need a laugh or feel like your wounds need healing, the creator gave us Mississippi Mike. Look, he keeps me entertained...okay! If you don't know Mississippi Mike then you are missing out big time. In fact, I'm sure we all know a "Mississippi Mike" somewhere. Tell me I'm lying.

What bugs me are the haters. Why hate? Congratulate. If you think you can do better than do better. Period. Otherwise, stop hitting the dislike button. There is nothing to dislike about this series... at all. Then again, keep hating because the show will continue to get better.

I'm still catching up on Season 2...but I get soo caught up that sometimes I need a minute to wrap my head around what just took place. For instance: Lola??? I'll leave it right there. When I say good writing...I mean good writing.

Congratulations to this show and the creator. I'm looking forward for the next episodes. Can someone give me the hook up? I mean, can I get an interview with the creator and some of the cast members? Hook a sister up. I'm serious.
